Expression of Interest by Smallholder Farmer to be
Member of NARI Council

The National Agricultural Research Institute (NARI) is the premier Research & Development organization established by an Act of Parliament (NARI Act 1996) for conducting and fostering applied and development research in the agriculture and rural development sectors in Papua New Guinea. NARI is also responsible for providing analytical, diagnostic and advisory services and up-to-date information to the agriculture and other sectors in PNG.
In compliance with section 7.1 (f) and (g) of the NARI Act (1996) the Minister is calling for nominations of representatives from:

three smallholder farmers to be members of the NARI Council. One of these members shall be a female so female farmers are encouraged to apply; and,
-
A legal growers’ association member nominated by that association.
This appointment will be made by the National Executive Council on the basis of recommendation by the Minister for Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology. Expressions of interest from smallholder farmers and a member of a legally recognised Farmers Association for the Minister’s consideration.
