8. Comparative Evaluation of the Effect of Age for Switching from Broiler Starter Crumbles to Broiler Finisher Pellets of three Commercial Rations
Profitability of raising broilers is primarily determined by input costs, and feeds remain the most important cost item of broiler production. Cost of commercial feeds continues to rise as most dietary ingredients are imported.
The objective of this study is to; 1) assess growth performance of broilers under three regimes of switch from starter crumbles to finisher pellets on three commercial broiler rations, and; 2) to assess the returns on feed cost of growing broiler chicken at 42 days of age at various switching over periods.
The trials are nearing completion, with data analysis and reporting now underway.
