5. Agricultural Technology Transfer Project in Morehead, Western Province
The purpose of this project is to improve livelihoods through better food security, cash earning and health in Morehead, Western Province, from improved productivity and production of crops and livestock, through use of new improved agricultural technologies including NARI recommended crops and livestock.
Activities to date have been the multiplication and dissemination of improved and drought tolerant crops on selected farmer fields. Trainings have been conducted on set up of rope and washer pump, food processing and vanilla cultivation. Another major activity will be the distribution of farming ducks and rabbits to interested farmers through the Resource centers to be established within the Morehead District.
