Management of Climatic Risk
Objectives
Develop frost management strategies to improve food security for high altitude areas. This objective is supported by the PNG Government through the Public Investment Program and the European Union.
Expected outputs
Recommend strategies to reduce the threat of frosts to food security in high altitude areas (frost prevention, frost avoidance, frost tolerant crops, and food storage) with recommendations for changes to farming systems.
Milestone
Drought and Frost Coping Strategy Handbook produced and workshops held across the country at selected sites and materials distributed. The five highlands provinces were covered well at their Provincial Headquarters.
